audio self helpLooking for audio self-help? Can it really help you?

Audio self-help CDs or MP3 are great source of self-development. Depending on your learning style, which are kinestetic, visual or auditive, you will learn better. To find out what kind of learning style you can rely the most, think about your experiences at school: what did you enjoy and learn the most? When you watch a movie in your class? When you were listening to the teacher? Or when you were playing a game?

Audio self-help is great for people with auditive learning style. Personally, I fall asleep very fast when I’m reading a book. I love learning, but there is something in reading that doesn’t work for me. A few years ago, I found out a great way to read books without visually watching them. They are audio books. Someone is reading or talking to you, while you do something else. It’s like listening to music, that you are learning from it.

There’s also a great advantage on listening audio self-help books, self help tapes or self help hypnosis. You can go back and relisten the material. You are with a teacher, then he is explaining the concept, you can’t stop him or her, and ask to go back and repeat exactly what he or she said. The answer may be shorter, or maybe there will be no answer. So, when you read on audio book, you don’t have to ask the person to go back, you just rewind.

Audio self-help books are also great for people who are very busy. For example, when I washed my clothes, I always carry my iPod and, while doing the laundry, I’m listening to a book. That way, I feel like I’m making time. If you do some activity you don’t need to think about (again, laundry, household tasks, exercising, driving, traveling), this a great way to a educate yourself, and to make more time.

Also, audio self-help books can be a substitute for other activities. For example, instead of watching TV and changing their channels for five times, without finding anything to watch, here’s something you can try: change the channel just once, if you don’t find any TV show you want to watch, turn it off, sit and relax, and listening to an audio self help book.

Many self-help audio books come from original books. Here is a quick list on different audio books you can find on Amazon:

Phil and I have helped many people by talking to them. We may keep them the reading material, but it makes a whole difference when we talk about the concept and experiences the change your life. Right now, I’m trying to dictate in the computer, to try to emulate what I could say to you on person.

But it is not the same. That’s why we are producing this year  audio self-help books about the methods we have developed over time, based on the three pillars of change: motivation, tools and education. We will try to get these three pillars into an audio, to get you where you want to be in life, and to change your life. Join the CHYL Phenomenon to get the details when we are launching this project, and stay tune for updates.
